Over the past 30 years our retail nursery has specialized in Texas native and well-adapted landscape plants of all varieties. When you come to Wilson's, we will help you with any tree type or question. Tall shade trees to small ornamental trees: we grow them all and in multiple sizes! At Wilson's, we will inform you of the strengths and weaknesses of each tree you are considering. We will give you guidelines and custom made planting and watering plans to protect you from making mistakes to ensure a beautiful landscape project.
For over 30 years we have served as one of the best garden centers in Helotes and San Antonio, Texas from the same location; 14650 Bandera Road, directly across from Floore Country Store on the outskirts of Helotes on the north-west side of San Antonio. We keep our nursery stocked with hand grown and selected trees from acorn and seed!

Our plant nursery began as a labor of love from landscapers who loved to grow and arrange plants. We continue to grow beautiful landscape plants that are well-adapted and native to the San Antonio and Hill Country area. Each year we grow a brand new crop of beautiful trees that we release for sale in spring around March 10th.
Some folks come to our nursery for free landscaping advice, some come for that one rare plant, others simply want us to recommend the right plants so they can have greater confidence to do it themselves. Regardless of your choice, we remain flexible and open to your preferences and are always grateful for your business. At Wilson Tree and Landscape Nursery trees are our #1 priority. From tall shade trees like the majestic Monterrey Oak, to flowering ornamental trees like the hardy Crape Myrtle: we absolutely love trees and we take great pride in growing the healthiest, best looking trees we possibly can in the most sustainable and natural way possible. From acorn to giant, you can be confident that your tree has been cared for and loved from the day it was planted to the day it was sold. Unlike flowering perennials who show damage quickly, trees can take weeks, even months, to show damage and can take even longer to die from a mistake. Keeping a tree fully healthy and vibrant takes even more effort! Each tree needs its own special soil, fertilizer blend, watering schedule, sun schedule, and disease prevention protocol. This is why its so important to know how your tree has been taken care of every day of its life! At Wilson's we have dedicated our lives (and often times our lunch time conversations) to ensuring our trees are not only surviving but thriving to the best of their ability. We take tree care very seriously, and we respect customers who do too. We are always willing to help our customers with detailed planting, watering and care guides that we formulate ourselves based on decades of success and failure. Maple Trees
At Wilson Tree and Landscape Nursery we grow our own trees. This allows us to focus on trees we love and have a passion for, including some tree that take true expertise to grow. One such tree is the highly sought after Bigtooth Maple tree. Bigtooth maples are extremely difficult to grow. Often, only one seed out of one thousand will germinate, and young Bigtooth Maple trees do not do well in our South Texas / San Antonio summers. Bigtooth Maples are slow growers too! For these reason, Bigtooth Maple trees require a lot of love and patience to grow a crop to maturity. Add the fact that high demand causes the few grown every year to get scooped up almost immediately, you can see why they are so difficult to find! At Wilson's Tree Nursery, the Bigtooth Maple Tree is one of our favorite trees. We have spent decades learning the secrets and techniques to grow this cherished tree in San Antonio, and we would love to pass one along to you!
In addition to Bigtooth Maple Trees, we carry dozens of other maple varieties that do well in South Central Texas. Bloodgood Maples, Japanese Maples, Caddo Maples, Mexican Sugar Maples and Shantung Maples are just a few of the varieties we carry year round.
