The "Blue Ice" Arizona Cypress is a beautiful evergreen tree with a blue tint. South Central Texas, Austin, San Antonio and Helotes does not have many options when it comes to the blue spruce look alikes of the north. The largest hurdles we face in South Texas is the intense heat and drought conditions. For any spruce to survive here it first needs to recon with our difficult growing conditions. Its for this reason San Antonio only has a handful of Spruce look alikes and juniper type trees that can survive, let alone thrive. The Blue Ice Arizona Cypress is extremely tough. It can take long periods of drought once established and can handle our 100 plus degree days without breaking a sweat.
